Arsenal recorded their first away win since November with a 2-1 triumph at bottom club Huddersfield that is a major boost in their hopes of a top-four Premier League finish. First-half goals from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette secured all the points for Unai Emery’s side. But it would be daft to get too carried away by winning at the home of the Terriers, whose tally of 11 points is the fourth lowest in Premier League history at this stage. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka all unavailable due to injury or illness, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was recall to the starting XI after missing eight matches with a broken foot. The Armenia attacking midfielder had a typically hit-and-miss display, interspersing moments of class with less than impressive touches and ball distribution. He was replaced late on in the second half – no surprise, there – and it will be interesting to see if the January 2018 signing keeps his place. Many Gooners think he should be axed.

It’s a disgrace when absolutely average players, bordering on plain substandard, like Mkhi and Neny are getting a look in at Arsenal.
