Leeds are set for another major fitness boost, with four players potentially back for the Championship game against Bolton on February 23.

Gaetano Berardi and Stuart Dallas will play the next two Under-23s games, which take place on the 15th (Notts County) and the 18th (Bolton) February, before being available for first-team selection.

Leeds first-team play Swansea tomorrow and then have a break until the Bolton game on the 23rd February.

BBC journalist Adam Pope was reporting from the Leeds pre-match press conference on Tuesday, and he added that “Forshaw and Douglas expected back before then.”

OPINION

Marcelo Bielsa must be wondering what he’s doing wrong. He hasn’t been able to select from a full squad of players at any point this season. However, if he can get through the Swansea game tomorrow without any further injuries, he might have just that luxury a week on Saturday. Izzy Brown is fit enough for the bench tomorrow, Patrick Bamford is going to lead the line again, and the remaining four injured players are set to return after this. The FA Cup break couldn’t have come at a better time for Leeds, with Gaetano Berardi, Stuart Dallas, Barry Douglas and Adam Forshaw all expected to be available for selection for the following league game. That will be a massive boost and it will take a lot of pressure off the squad, with Bielsa having to draw on Under-23 players to cope withe the injury crisis so far this season. That they’ve done that and are still second in the table is testament to the work Bielsa has put in since his arrival at Elland Road.
