Piers Morgan hailed the form of Mesut Ozil as Arsenal played Bournemouth at the Emirates tonight, but slammed him for being “so bloody frustrating”.

Ozil scored the first goal after just four minutes and set the second up for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Morgan, who has criticised Ozil severely, admitted it “looks like he fancies playing football again.”

However, he said he was a frustrating player and when poked by a fan he said, “Ozil’s ability has never been in question. But 100 sickies suggest a heart-and-guts problem that can’t be cured by a doctor.”

Arsenal went on to complete a commanding 5-1 win with Tottenham currently being beaten by Chelsea.

OPINION

Poor old Ozil. He’s had a torrid time of things recently what with his international troubles and then seemingly falling out with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery. When he’s on form, he’s a fantastic player, and he was bang at it today in the first-half for Arsenal. However, even that wasn’t enough to completely win over celebrity motor-mouth fan Piers Morgan. He admitted that Ozil is a great player when he wants to be, and begrudgingly said it looks like he wants to play football tonight. But he thinks that there’s a problem with Ozil that’s terminal and that’s something that a few pundits have pointed out. Ozil’s body language isn’t always great but a manager’s job is to get the best out of a player. Arsene Wenger coaxed it out of Ozil and it’s surely Emery’s job to do the same. He reminded Arsenal fans how good he could be in the first 45 minutes tonight.
