Leeds United have confirmed that young attacker Clarke Oduor has signed a new deal with the club.

The Whites announced via their official Twitter account and official website on Sunday that Oduor, 19, has signed a new one-and-a-half-year contract, with the option of it being extended by an extra 12 months by the club.

Oduor made his senior debut for Leeds in their FA Cup defeat to QPR in January when he came off the bench for the final three minutes.

The winger has been a regular for the Under-23s side as well this season as they currently sit top of the Professional Development League North table.

OPINION

Oduor is one of the more highly-rated young players at Leeds, and he has clearly already made an impression of Marcelo Bielsa having earned his first team debut last month. Oduor has also been among the senior squad when they have travelled to games and that will be a massive boost for the teenager as he continues his development at Elland Road. Oduor is now 19-years-old and will be 20 by the time next season starts, so it might be a good idea for Bielsa to send the Kenyan attacker out on loan. He definitely has the ability to be able to play in League Two and if he manages to impress in that league then he could soon find himself moving up the tiers to get better and more useful experience to match his ability. Leeds fans will be hoping that Oduor isn’t the only young winger to sign a new deal with the club, especially with the amount of speculation surrounding Jack Clarke’s future at the moment.
