OPINION
Amanda Staveley is back on the scene, claiming to the National that her UAE-based firm, PCP Capital Partners, are still interested in Newcastle United. However some Magpies fans are understandably tired of hearing her name linked with buying Mike Ashley out of St James’ Park, especially as a previous bid to purchase the club failed. Staveley, worth $170million according to the Richest, does not seem to show she’s that interested in Newcastle based on her comments. Yes, she mentions them, but that’s a given when you consider the previous PCP bid to buy the Tyneside club. It seems that she is just interested in any Premier League club at this stage, but as Ashley wants to sell-up, the Magpies might be the most realistic club to takeover. Don’t expect anything to come of this though. This just seems like talk and as Newcastle fans know very well, talk is cheap, especially when it comes to buying the club off Ashley.
