West Ham manager will have to do without Samir Nasri when his side take on Fulham in an exciting update over two more missing men, according to the Evening Standard.

The newspaper claim on their website that the French midfielder has failed to recover from a muscular injury which has kept him on the sidelines and will miss out against the Cottagers, which might not be the case for Manuel Lanzini and Fabian Balbuena.

The duo are said to be close to recovering from their respective injuries and could feature against their London rivals, the Argentine on course to make his first appearance of the season from the bench.

Opinion

Injuries always have the opportunity to be swings and roundabouts and with Nasri missing it gives Pellegrini the chance to bring in Lanzini as a near like-for-like replacement. The Argentine is a firm favourite of the east London faithful and his absence has been a sore miss at the London Stadium – although Felipe Anderson’s performances have helped soften the blow. Still, he will be a welcome return to the Hammers side and there will be hopes he can provide the spark to get them out of their rut. The prospect of having Nasri and Lanzini available along the rest of their talented attacking options is enough to get the mouths of the Irons faithful drooling. Hopefully it will not be too long until they see what they want, for it has been a frustrating campaign for the Hammers when it comes to injuries.
