Allan McGregor’s disciplinary hearing will now take place on Wednesday after Rangers requested that it was put back by 24 hours, according to Press Association reporter Andy Newport.
The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that the Scottish FA have accepted the Gers’ request after McGregor was offered a two-match ban for a challenge on Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson last week.

McGregor, 37, planted his studs into Ferguson’s shin when diving for the ball at his feet as Rangers won 4-2 at Pittodrie, in a fiery game that had also seen Alfredo Morelos and Scott McKenna sent off.
OPINION
McGregor deserves this ban. It’s not the first time this season where he has done something stupid, reckless and needless, but on those occasions he has somehow managed to avoid punishment. The SFA have acted upon it this time, maybe because of the amount of uproar that has happened over the past couple of weeks due to the poor decision-making by referees. Bobby Madden somehow missed this incident, even though he would have clearly been watching the ball. It wasn’t that hard to see McGregor’s leg go up into Ferguson’s shin. Even if he didn’t mean it, it’s still endangering an opponent and should have seen him sent off and Aberdeen awarded a penalty. It would be a shock if McGregor contested this, but it seems like he is going to considering that Rangers have asked for the hearing to be put back by 24 hours. His absence will be a blow for Rangers if he is ruled out of any games.
