A draw against Man United at Old Trafford isn’t the worst result in the world but Liverpool fans will be worried about the display from their front three, in a period when they really need them to be firing. And they took to Twitter to berate the player that Klopp brought on to replace Firmino, who went off injured in the 31st minute – Daniel Sturridge. The introduction of Sturridge was a big surprise with Xherdan Shaqiri on the bench. He ended up coming on for Jordan Henderson in the 72nd minute but couldn’t make an impact either. Liverpool fans saved most of the criticism for Sturridge though. Bar odd flashes of brilliance, he’s never produced the goods for Liverpool and you have to question the wisdom of trusting him in such a big game for almost an hour. Many Liverpool fans think it was the wrong move judging by the reactions on Twitter and as his contract expires in the summer, we could easily see this as being the last time he gets a long run-out in the first-team. One fan said he’d rather play with 10 men, while many others said he was finished at the club.

Not sure why some fans think Sturridge is worth a new contract, hes on 120k+ a week, hasnt done anything for years. Hes finished, time to move on, same with Lallana, Lovren, Moreno etc.

Yep, there was no excuse for that 2nd half display. I can just about forgive the disruptive first half but that 2nd half was dire. At least Klopp will now recognise that Sturridge is finished at the club.

Sturridge is ok for the last 20min, but that’s it. Should’ve brought on Shaq, and played Salah down the middle when Bobby went off. Was a puzzling sub.

Face it, we can’t just break teams down when they seat back. Such games cries for a Creative playmaker. And Sturridge coming on for Bobby practically killed the game. Keita or Shaq could have done something. United was there for the taking, yet TAA was not brought on..SMH
