Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has praised Manchester City frontman Sergio Aguero for his wonderful performance against Chelsea on Sunday.
The Argentina international scored a hat-trick as Pep Guardiola’s team eased to a 6-0 victory over Maurizio Sarri’s side, and Lineker was seriously impressed with what he saw from Aguero.
“If you can’t do it from 2 yards then bang one in from 25 yards,” he said on his personal Twitter account. “The best never let a miss affect them and Sergio Aguero is one of the best.”

OPINION
Lineker is bang on the money, here. Aguero was absolutely sensational on Sunday and his first goal was a moment of pure brilliance from the former Atletico Madrid man. What makes that effort even more special is that it came on the back of a horrendous miss from two yards out. Aguero somehow missed with that attempt, but more than made up for it minutes later. As Lineker says, the ability to put a miss to the back of your mind and take the next opportunity that comes your way is a vital component of any top striker – and Aguero certainly fits into that category. He is one of the best attackers the Premier League has ever seen, there’s no doubt about that. It was a fine treble from the 30-year-old, but his first goal was undoubtedly the pick of the bunch. If he can continue this sort of form then City will be very tough to stop down the stretch.
