OPINION
Is there a a side in English football who have endured as terrible a run of luck regarding injuries as Leeds United have this season? Fans, players, and staff would probably argue not, and their incredible misfortune was compounded this weekend by the news that the club were waiting to see how bad leading scorer Kemar Roofe’s knee injury could be, as reported Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post. The striker picked up a knock in the midweek win over Swansea City, and despite completing 90 minutes, has undergone treatment and was pictured in a leg brace in the city centre on Saturday. Roofe may have been in poor form recently, netting just once in his last eight appearances, but the prospect of losing him will no doubt send shivers down supporters’ spines, especially given a sticky run of form that has seen United slip from the top of the Championship, albeit with a game in hand. The last thing Marcelo Bielsa’s side needs at this stage of the season is to be losing their star men, and Roofe’s potential absence could be about as damaging as it could get for a team that haven’t scored more than twice in a match since Boxing Day. Nervy times are ahead for Leeds fans…

They've dealt with 45 injuries this season?! Will be a miracle to get promoted at this rate

He's started 26 games this season, scored 14 goals, yet he's only scored once in the last 8 games. If we win our game in hand we go top? We're a team that have players in numerous positions that score us goals, it doesn't worry me if he's injured.. #lufc #mot

Minor miracle if we get promoted given our injuries and the fact we didn't strengthen in January #lufc

Bad news, but we’ll manage. @LUFC have been playing a style of football that isn’t totally dependent on a striker all season. We’ve got options, but it’s crucial to keep Bamford fit now. Hoping Roberts can make his mark properly.
