Leeds predicted XI v Bolton

OPINION

Just last week we were saying that Marcelo Bielsa might finally have a full squad to pick from for the first time this season. What were we thinking?

Just a day or two later, Kemar Roofe was spotted in a cast and if the worst fears weren’t confirmed after he’d had his scans, it wasn’t far off.

It was revealed to be ligament damage and he’s now on the sidelines for an indeterminate length, said to be weeks rather than months.

That leaves Marcelo Bielsa with another big decision about who to put in the number 10 position.

Izzy Brown is on the cusp of the first-team but we can’t see him starting a game without appearing off the bench first. That might well happen on Saturday against Bolton.

He could bring Jamie Shackleton in on the right and move Pablo Hernandez to the number 10 but we think that’s too radical for a manager who likes to keep things the same as possible.

So we think youngster Tyler Roberts will get the nod, with the rest of the team staying the same from the one that beat Swansea 2-1.

The 20-year-old hasn’t scored or provided an assist in the league since October but Roofe’s injury gives him a massive opportunity to prove he can play a vital part in the Leeds run-in.

Barry Douglas and Adam Forshaw could be back and they can strengthen the bench.

This is the starting XI that we predict Bielsa is going to put out on Saturday in a game that Leeds simply have to win.
