Tottenham want to offload Moussa Sissoko in the summer transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that Inter Milan are interested in signing the 29-year-old, who has been in red-hot form for Spurs this season, appearing 28 times across all competitions.

It is understood that even though the France international has seamlessly replaced Mousa Dembele in the Tottenham midfield, the North London club will look to sell him once this campaign has finished so they can sign other targets.

Good move for Tottenham?

Sissoko has been sensational for Spurs this season, with Mauricio Pochettino transforming the ex-Newcastle midfielder from flop into one of the club’s most important players.

He is bossing the midfield in almost every game he plays and offloading him in the summer would make very little sense, unless a lot of money was offered for him.

Sissoko is 29-years-old, is at the peak of his career and will have two years left on his contract once this season is over.

Selling him would be a bad idea.

Likely to happen?

Sissoko was terrible for Tottenham in his first two years with the club and if Pochettino refused to get rid of him during that period, then the chances of him doing so when he’s playing well are remote.

Inter Milan would have to pay a lot for Sissoko surely, and unless someone like Ivan Perisic can be offered in return, there’s no way that this deal would happen.
