With both Rangers and Celtic in action on Wednesday it is unlikely that the Ibrox faithful were keeping watch on how their fierce rivals were getting on against Hearts.

The result would have no doubt been a sucker punch despite the Light Blues’ 4-0 win, the Hoops managing to snatch an injury time winner to keep their lead at the top of the table to eight points, but the performance of Neil Lennon’s men would have brought a sense of hope to the Gers supporters.

Celtic were some way off their normal standards, struggling at both ends of the pitch, and the display from their defenders would have had Rangers in stitches, Kristoffer Ajer and Dedryck Boyata both shocking.

As much as the Bhoys were bad, Hearts impressed and no one more so than their beast of a striker Uche Ikpeazu, the 6’2″ (source: Transfermarkt) hitman leading the line to great effect.

Ajer and Boyata were bullied from start to finish by the 24-year-old and his performance was reminiscent of a man the Ibrox faithful adore – Alfredo Morelos.

Strong, dominating and with a touch of pace about him, Ikpeazu looks a real handful and with Morelos inevitably going to break the hearts of the Rangers supporters when he leaves, the player quoted by the Scottish Sun as suggesting a move could be on the cards this summer, he could quite easily fill the gaping void at Ibrox.

The Light Blues need to find a replacement to take the Colombian’s place for it is only a matter of time before he leaves and Ikpeazu would soften the blow significantly with his bullying performances up front.
