Chelsea wing wizard Eden Hazard is unlikely to leave Stamford Bridge if the club find themselves slapped with a transfer embargo as they find themselves embroiled in an ongoing situation over their previous dealings, according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.

As reported on the broadcaster’s website, the Blues have seen a ban imposed on them for the next two transfer windows for breaking regulations over the signing of young players in the past but are set to appeal the decision.

However, with the future of Hazard firmly in the spotlight already, the likes of Real Madrid reported to be interested in his signing, the reporter has issued a significant boost in their hopes of keeping him on board.

Solhekol told Sky Sports News (22/02, 13:00): “I cannot see him leaving Chelsea if they are under a transfer embargo.

“We had a very similar situation with Antoine Griezmann, he was very close to moving from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United. Atletico Madrid were hit with a FIFA transfer ban and he decided to stay put.

“Eden Hazard, they loyalty he has to Chelsea, I can’t see him leaving the club if they weren’t able to get in a replacement.”

Opinion

Keeping Hazard on board for the Blues would be absolutely massive and this transfer embargo could work out to be huge for the London club. It would force their hand to finally make use of their young talents – the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi sitting on the sidelines right now – rather than bringing in new faces to fix the troubles at Stamford Bridge, and could see them keep their Belgian talisman as well. It is not great that the Blues have been found guilty of skirting around the rules when it comes to the signing of young talents but it could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Of course, it will not stop the likes of Real Madrid from trying their hardest to poach Hazard away and if they make an offer neither club nor player can refuse then he might depart. One to watch for the whole of the Premier League, not just the fans at Chelsea.
