Harvey Barnes may have been recalled by Leicester in January, but the 21-year-old is still clearly keeping tabs on how West Brom are doing in the Championship.

The England Under-21 international must have been delighted to see Jake Livermore score a last-minute winner in the 3-2 victory against QPR at Loftus Road on Tuesday night, taking the Baggies to within one point of the automatic promotion spots.

Barnes took to his personal Instagram account to show his delight after seeing the West Brom players crowd around Livermore once the referee had blown for full-time.

OPINION

You can take the boy out of West Brom, but you cannot take the West Brom out of the boy. Barnes may have only spent half a season on loan at The Hawthorns but it seems as though the Leicester youngster is a Baggie for life. He would surely have leapt out of his side like every other West Brom fan did when they saw Livermore find the back of the net in the 94th minute on Tuesday night, securing a vital three points in the race for promotion. It was a beautifully well-worked goal and you cannot praise Rekeem Harper enough for his beautiful backheel that allowed Mason Holgate to cross the ball into Livermore to score. West Brom’s young players have been superb this season, but none more so than Harper, who is going from strength to strength. Who knows, maybe Albion could have both Harper and Barnes on their books next season if they are willing to splash out a bit of cash. Tying down Harper’s contract has become more important than ever now though.
