Everton must make an audacious swoop to sign Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker-Peters in the summer transfer window with the 21-year-old struggling to hold down a regular first team spot in North London.

Walker-Peters, 21, is a brilliant young full-back who can play on both the right and left-hand side of the defence, but he has been criminally under-used by Mauricio Pochettino, with him earning just seven appearances in all competitions this season.

Even though he has been so rarely-seen by the Spurs fans, Walker-Peters has still supplied three assists this term and he has shown that he has the potential to become a star of the Premier League in the future.

However he can only reach that potential if he is playing regularly and at Tottenham, he simply isn’t.

Everton could do with a new right-back in the summer transfer window.

Seamus Coleman has failed to impress this season and Jonjoe Kenny has shown signs that he is way short of Premier League quality when he has come in to replace the injury-prone Ireland international.

Walker-Peters would not only be a great back-up option for Coleman, but he could be an instant upgrade on the senior right-back.

The Tottenham full-back is not only English but he is also a major threat when attacking and that could perfectly compliment the way that Marco Silva sets up his Everton side to play.

It might cost a fair bit to lure Walker-Peters away from Spurs in the summer, especially as he is contracted to the London club until 2023, but surely the player will see that he has no future in Pochettino’s squad.

Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier are blocking his path to play in his preferred right-back role while Danny Rose and Ben Davies are Spurs’ two left-backs.

Even though both Rose and Davies are currently injured, Sky Sports reports that Jan Vertonghen is set to start at left-back against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, showing that Walker-Peters is really struggling to get into Pochettino’s plans.

He deserves more football and he will get exactly that at Goodison Park if he moves in the summer.

If Everton can seal a swoop for the 21-year-old then they will no doubt be playing an absolute blinder.
