Wolves striker Raul Jimenez rescued a point for his side from the spot in what was a controversy filled afternoon away at Bournemouth on Saturday.

The striker slotted home to ensure a 1-1 draw and a share of the spoils at the Vitality Stadium, and there was one player who stood out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of his teammates.

That player was Leander Dendoncker, who looked a complete shadow of the player that he was a few months ago, in fact, Saturday’s display was certainly one of his worst in a Wolves shirt to date.

His quality throughout the afternoon was incredibly poor and he gave the ball away one too many times, and this is simply not good enough from the 23-year-old, who is usually so consistent.

He was eventually withdrawn for the more attacking Adama Traore, a decision which pretty much sums up what a dire time he had on the pitch on Saturday.

Dendoncker is usually a man mountain in the midfield and there have been numerous times where he has blown many of the fans away with his ability to pass the ball and keep the pressure on the opponents’ midfield.

However, he demonstrated none of those qualities yesterday, which is a shame, as the Belgian was starting to show promise in terms of his career at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo must not think twice about axing the woeful 6ft 2in [Transfermarkt] player, as it is clear that he is hampering the team’s efforts quite a lot.

He was simply not good enough, and Nuno cannot afford to have players in the team who do not look like they are putting in any effort.

Time for the manager to take the plunge and ruthlessly axe a player who was abysmal on Saturday.
