West Bromwich Albion forward Hal Robson-Kanu is facing a late fitness test before the team’s trip to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, according to the Express & Star.

The newspaper claims that the Welsh international, who came off at half time in the Baggies’ win over Aston Villa on Saturday, faces a last-gasp decision on his QPR availability.

The 29-year-old is coming off a strong first half performance in the derby victory, where he opened the scoring with a smart headed goal.

West Brom veteran Chris Brunt is in contention to play on Tuesday, however.

The longtime Baggies stalwart has missed the last three games with a calf strain but could return at Loftus Road.

OPINION

This is an important update ahead of  another crucial Championship encounter for Darren Moore’s side. With striker Dwight Gayle in the midst of a two game ban for simulation Robson-Kanu remains a vital member of the West Brom attack. He was handed a chance on Saturday against Villa and he made the most of it by getting himself on the scoresheet. It was a big shame for him that he was hauled off minutes later thanks to a recurring injury, but hopefully he can complete a quick recovery and feature on Tuesday. The news about Brunt is very positive, though. The Baggies legend has been an important player yet again this campaign, and it’s always good to have him available. It’s unlikely that he’ll start against QPR in his first game back from injury, but to have him in the squad again is great news. It’ll be good to see him back in a West Brom shirt, that’s for sure.
