Leeds United goalkeeper Kamil Miazek has picked up a finger injury which has resulted in Will Huffer returning to Elland Road after his short term loan spell at Barnet, according to BBC journalist Adam Pope.

The reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the Polish shot stopper, who stands at a colossal 6ft 4in (source: Transfermarkt), suffered the injury setback during the warm up for the under-23 clash on Monday, a game in which Bailey Peacock-Farrell played.

Huffer had penned a short term temporary deal with Barnet and it was confirmed that he would be returning to Elland Road by the club’s official Twitter account.

Opinion

This is the news that many fans will have been waiting for after seeing Huffer return, with the only reason his loan spell would not be extended is if Leeds felt they needed him back. Obviously they are either certain the Polish shot stopper is out for a while or worried about how serious it could be and so are willing to bring Huffer back as the third choice keeper behind Peacock-Farrell and Kiko Casilla. It is a shame for the youngster, who would no doubt have been enjoying his taste of first team football, but the fact there is only one spot for three players is one of the problems with being a goalkeeper. Still, he will have learned plenty and will continue his development alongside one of the most experienced and top quality goalkeepers the Championship has ever seen in the shape of Casilla. He is definitely not the worst mentor for the young shot stoppers at Leeds to have.
