Leeds have yet another injury to contend with, as confirmed by Marcelo Bielsa in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Championship game against Bolton on Saturday.

On top of the ligament damage to Kemar Roofe, that will see the striker on the sidelines for up to eight weeks, Bielsa confirmed that midfielder Adam Forshaw hasn’t recovered from his injury.

He said that the 27-year-old would need more time and that he would miss the next two games, against Bolton and QPR.

Left-back Barry Douglas will also miss the Bolton game and will play with the Under-23s on Friday night. He could feature in the game against QPR on Tuesday.

The injury news was quoted by BBC Radio Leeds’ Twitter account on Thursday afternoon.

OPINION

We don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that we’ve never known injuries like the ones Leeds have suffered from this season. Bielsa has never had a full squad to choose from since the start of the Championship, and with Roofe out for at least half of the rest of the season, there’s every chance that he won’t have had a full squad at any time this campaign. If he gets Leeds promoted on the back of that it will be an absolute miracle. However, some questions will have to be asked about his methods and his intensity. Ignoring the impact injuries, there have been way too many injuries at Leeds. We imagine it could well be towards the top of the most injuries suffered by a team in one of the two two leagues in England in modern times. Adam Forshaw is the latest to drop out, after the midfielder was expected to be fit enough to at least make the bench on Saturday. Leeds will now have to make do without him for the Bolton game on Saturday and the QPR game on Tuesday.
