It has been pointed out time and again that Leeds United have been reliant – perhaps overly so – on youngsters bolstering the first team during their push for the Championship title this season.

It speaks volumes that 22-year-old Bailey Peacock-Farrell started the season as the first choice goalkeeper and that mercurial talent Jack Clarke has been joined by the likes of Jamie Shackleton, Aapo Halme and Leif Davis in all playing varying amounts of first team football.

The next man who looks set to make that step up from youth football to the senior side is Robbie Gotts, the youngster with a handful of unused substitute outings to his name already and the 19-year-old has lifted the lid on what goes on at their Thorp Arch training ground – including the secret weapon that Leeds fans need to herald in their push for promotion.

Gotts told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I feel like I’ve come a long way as a player and a person this year.

He’s (Carlos Corberan) helped a lot. He really tries to get the best out of you which is good as a coach. He’s brought so much from the first-team to the Under-23s and that’s really brought us on as a group too.

“It’s great having players like Jamie and Jack in and around the squad too. There’s a lot of people we can look up to as well.”

Corberan might not have been brought in by Bielsa, unlike the majority of the coaching staff, but he has had a huge impact on the successes of the first team this season – all while going under the radar.

It appears as though his presence has been a huge influence on getting the youngsters ready for Bielsa and his demands in the first team yet there might even be some fans at Elland Road who do not know his name.

Without these future stars there is no way Leeds would be pushing for the Championship trophy and Corberan deserves heralding for his impact.
