OPINION
Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey was named on the substitutes bench for his team’s clash with Brentford on Wednesday night, and the Villa faithful appear very happy with Dean Smith’s decision to include him. Every team likes to see their homegrown young players coming through to feature for the first team and it appears that that will soon happen for Ramsey. He is an exciting midfielder who has been tearing it up for the team’s U23s side this season and so it’s perfect timing for Smith to include him in the squad for Wednesday’s game. Smith is operating with five midfielders at this moment in time so it makesĀ sense for their to be a few more on the substitutes bench, and why not Ramsey? He’s clearly impressed the manager enough to earn this opportunity and is someone who is highly rated at Villa Park. It will be very interesting to see how he does if he does come on against the Bees.
