It seems as though Brendan Rodgers is on his way out of Celtic after the Scottish giants confirmed on Tuesday that the manager is in talks with Leicester about the vacancy at the King Power.

The Bhoys announced via their official website that they have reluctantly granted Rodgers permission to enter discussions with the Premier League club, which is a massive shock to everyone involved with the Glasgow giants.

Celtic fans will surely be gutted with the news as Rodgers has won every single domestic honour since taking charge at Parkhead in 2016 and there is no doubt that the squad of players will also feel the impact of this major development.

One player who is likely to be affected more than any other player at Celtic is Oliver Burke, who has hit the best run of form in years since joining the Bhoys on loan in January.

Burke, 21, has become a mainstay of Rodgers’ starting line-up since he was signed on a temporary basis from West Brom last month.

He has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, scoring four goals and supplying two assists in the process while be playing as a centre-forward.

It is without doubt that Burke has been enjoying himself in Scotland, especially after a miserable season and a half at The Hawthorns after Albion signed him from RB Leipzig for £15million.

He made just five senior appearances for the Baggies this season before he was shipped out on loan to Celtic, and the £30,000-a-week (Spotrac) attacker will now surely be worried about losing his spot in the side with Rodgers on his way out.

The Glasgow Evening Times has reported that Neil Lennon is expected to return to Parkhead and take the role of manager until the end of the season, which is also going to be worrying for Burke.

Lennon was hardly known for putting his faith in younger players during his previous spell as Celtic manager and because the Northern Irishman will be desperate to impress and try to earn the job permanently, he will be unlikely to take risks with his team selection.

That means that Burke could soon lose his spot in the Hoops’ starting line-up for the club’s record signing Odsonne Edouard.

It is a worrying time for everyone at Celtic and while some players might thrive with a change of manager, others might not.

Burke dropped even further down the pecking order at West Brom once Darren Moore replaced Alan Pardew.

He will be praying that does not happen again at Celtic.
