Izzy Brown will be in the Leeds United squad that takes on Swansea City at Elland Road on Wednesday night, it has been confirmed.

The 22-year-old is yet to make a single appearance since joining the Whites on loan from Chelsea in the summer, but it looks as though he has a spot on the bench booked for the upcoming midweek Championship action.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Marcelo Bielsa announced that Brown will be in his plans for Swansea’s visit to West Yorkshire.

When asked if the ex-West Brom attacker will be in his squad, Bielsa said: “Yes, he will be part of the group tomorrow.”

OPINION

Are Leeds fans finally going to get their first glimpse of Brown in action on Wednesday night? It’s about time anyway as the attacker has been sidelined for around a year now due to an injury he sustained while on loan at Huddersfield last season, coupled with a setback while recuperating with the Whites. Brown has played in the Under-23s and will hopefully have shaken off a lot of rust in those games because it’s going to be a very long-awaited return to action for the Chelsea loanee. Luckily it comes at just the right time for Leeds. Members of the senior squad have been suffering injury issues all season and only in the last few weeks has it really started to have an impact on the club’s form. Brown could be the lift that Bielsa and his men need to see out this bid for promotion, which is the club’s most serious since relegation from the Premier League almost 15 years ago.
