Ben Foster claims that Jake Livermore scored a “big goal” to secure all three points for West Brom in their 3-2 victory at QPR on Tuesday night.

Albion moved to within one point of the automatic promotion spots after a well-worked move was finished off by Livermore in the 94th minute at Loftus Road, as the England international beautifully flicked the ball into the hosts’ goal.

Watford goalkeeper Foster, who quit West Brom last summer, was quick to react to Livermore’s dramatic winner on his personal Instagram account, applauding the midfielder for his goal.

OPINION

Foster may have annoyed a lot of West Brom fans after he left the club in the summer despite promising to stay put at The Hawthorns, but he has more than proved that he still loves the Black Country club. The ex-England goalkeeper has constantly reacted to Albion’s results this season, showing that he really does care about the club, despite his decision to leave for Watford. It was a massive, massive win for West Brom on Tuesday. They lost the lead twice and it looked as though they were heading for a draw in what was a game in hand at Loftus Road. However winning all three points at the death feels like it could be a catalyst for a strong late-season promotion charge, especially when Albion’s next two games are against Sheffield United and Leeds United. Both of those clubs will be worried by West Brom’s form and the fact that Dwight Gayle and Matt Phillips are coming back into the side.
