OPINION
Another year, another contract for Ryan Hardie. The young striker has been handed another one-year extension by Rangers before heading out on loan once again to Premiership rivals Livingston, as reported on the club’s official website. The 21-year-old signed a similar deal in the summer before heading to West Lothian on his first loan deal this season, with this becoming a familiar theme for the Scotland youth international. It seems as though Rangers are keen to keep hold of him for now, but are unsure of his ability to perform at the highest level at the moment. By keeping him around on one year deals and loaning him out they are making sure they are not missing out on him if he does prove himself, while also not taking up loan space for current first-team players. It is a clever move by the club, and one which is obviously keeping Hardie happy for now, with the youngster obviously desperate to become a regular at Ibrox. Fans are obviously happy with the arrangement too, but some are quite clearly keen to see Hardie given a chance soon instead of just being loaned out constantly.
