Leeds United fans eager for their club’s January pursuit of Swansea City winger Daniel James to succeed will be encouraged that he has been named on the substitute’s bench for their FA Cup clash against Gillingham today (Saturday). The Championship have outfit have reportedly slapped a £5million price tag on the 21-year-old amid strong interest from Leeds in signing him by next Thursday. It has been widely reported that Leeds are working on a deal as they try to take advantage of Swansea’s need to raise cash, as well as provide fresh cutting edge to their own attack. James looked Swansea’s most potent forward in their win against Sheffield United last weekend, so it is something of a surprise that he hasn’t been named in the starting XI by Graham Potter for the fourth round FA Cup clash. Leeds followers are interpreting this as a major boost. It is certainly a key development, and can only be a good thing as the Championship leaders aim to make him the club’s second senior January signing.
