West Brom must make a last-gasp swoop to sign Tottenham forward Kazaiah Sterling after it was reported that the 20-year-old has been made available for a loan deal.

Guardian journalist David Hytner has claimed via his personal Twitter account that Sterling could be sent out on a temporary basis today (Thursday), presumably so he can continue his development elsewhere after breaking into Spurs’ first team squad this month.

Sterling made just his second senior appearance for Tottenham in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat against Crystal Palace last week and it seems as though Mauricio Pochettino wants to see how the England youth international can cope out on loan somewhere.

West Brom could do with all the additions they can get on transfer deadline day.

Mason Holgate has been Albion’s only signing this month and the Championship promotion hopefuls still need to beef up their attack.

Sterling is a centre-forward but he can also occupy a No 10 role and has the ability to play out wide, so he could be the perfect addition for a West Brom side that has lost Harvey Barnes and Bakary Sako this month.

Wes Hoolahan could also be leaving The Hawthorns soon with his contract expiring at the end of January.

Sterling could be Albion’s new Barnes.

He is fast, energetic, good on the ball and a tidy finisher in front of goal.

The 20-year-old has hit four goals in seven Premier League 2 appearances this season and he is surely desperate to play first team football, whether it be at Tottenham or elsewhere.

If Pochettino is impressed with the player then he is surely good enough for Albion and Moore must make a last-ditch move to sign him before the 11pm deadline.
