Darren Moore has been operating with one hand tied behind his back when it comes to West Brom’s transfer business, but Giles Barnes. Seriously? According to the Sun, the 30-year-old is training with the Baggies with the view to re-signing for them on a free transfer. Barnes left The Hawthorns back in 2011 and has played for the likes of Doncaster, Houston Dynamos, Vancouver Whitecaps, Orlando City, Leon and most recently Colorado Rapids. His magical mystery tour of North America appears to have ended and Moore is now said to be looking at signing him. Understandably, some West Brom fans are in meltdown over the transfer news. Barnes is so obviously not cut out for the Championship. If it wasn’t clear when he struggled at Doncaster in 2011/12, then it’s clear now after almost a decade in the USA and Mexico, doing nothing of note. Albion need to back out of this deal fast. It’s such a waste of wages, especially after Oliver Burke was allowed to join Celtic on loan.
