Chris Sutton has predicted that Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership title and believes that Rangers will scrape a third-placed finish “on goal difference”.

The Hoops are currently one point clear of second-placed Kilmarnock in the league standings but have a game in hand that could see them move clear of the chasing pack.

However Sutton believes that Killie will drop out of the top-three and reckons that Aberdeen will once again pip Rangers to the runners-up spot behind Celtic.

“You know what, it changes every week, the best league in Europe,” said Sutton, as shown in a video on Robbie Savage’s personal Twitter account.

“At the moment, Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers, just on goal difference.”

OPINION

As Sutton says, the Scottish Premiership is one of the most exciting leagues in Europe this season and you can tell in the clip that it was a hard decision for him to make. Aberdeen and Kilmarnock have the potential to cause some upsets this season, but it’s hard to agree with Sutton that Killie will finish below the Dons at this stage. As for Rangers and Celtic, that’s a bit of an easier prediction. The Hoops are bound to win the Scottish Premiership title. Steven Gerrard’s tactical decisions for the game against Kilmarnock on Wednesday were baffling and the gulf in experience between him and Brendan Rodgers should mean that the Bhoys will take the title. Rangers should finish in second-place. Our prediction at this stage would be for Celtic to win it, Rangers second and Kilmarnock third. However the league has been very unpredictable this season, so who knows? Maybe the trophy will leave Glasgow for the first time since 1985.
