Timothy Weah has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic, as reported by the Daily Record, and has seemingly confirmed his departure from PSG on social media in a post which should have the Hoops faithful excited.

The United States international striker took to his personal Instagram to post a photograph of his locker at the French champions captioned with three waving hand emojis and Bhoys’ fans will be over the moon that the 18-year-old finally appears to be on his way to link up with the squad, especially now that Rangers are making such promising inroads in the transfer market.

The feeling at Parkhead will be that the champions need to step up their own business to compete with the signings made by Steven Gerrard’s men, and Weah is a very good way to keep things looking up – Oliver Burke on loan the first signing by Brendan Rodgers.

He will be hungry and eager to prove himself, and there’s no doubting that he has the potential to be an elite level footballer.

Undoubtedly, he will be thrown in at the deep end, and it will be interesting to see how he copes, but the boy has character and will be relishing the opportunity.

The Hoops’ fans will be pleased to see that he is keen to join, and if he starts scoring goals and puts the work in, he could become an instant hero.
