COMMENTARY
With the amount of injuries Celtic have suffered this season Emilio Izaguirre has found himself playing a lot more football than anyone would have expected this season – and it has had the Hoops faithful tearing him to pieces after starting against St Johnstone on Wednesday night. The Bhoys might have looked comfortable for most of the game but that has not stopped the fans from hammering what they saw from the left back, criticising his crossing ability and suggesting that he is no better than a Sunday league defender. The truth is that he is simply not good enough for a Celtic side who have come on leaps and bounds since he was first at the club and while his teammates have grown in quality he appears to have sunk like a stone. The frustrations are only going to continue every game he plays and the sooner that Kieran Tierney returns the better for everyone – including Izaguirre who should have his eyes firmly set on the exit door. His time at Parkhead should be up and the fans would be happy to see the back of him.
