COMMENTARY
There are not too many easier debuts for a Celtic player to make than in the Scottish Cup against a side in League One but it appears as though the Parkhead faithful thought Oliver Burke struggled to make the desired impression on his first competitive outing against Airdrieonians. Signed on loan from West Brom until the end of the season, he was shoehorned into a striker’s role rather than his natural wing position and there is no doubting that he was not entirely comfortable with leading the line. Hopefully in the near future the Hoops’ supporters can see him line up out wide so he can show what he has to offer for this was an underwhelming start to his Parkhead career. Still, at least it is clear he is fit enough to be starting for the club already after missing plenty of game time while with his parent side. Now he just has to push on and try and make more of a mark in the coming weeks, or face struggling to pick up action in Glasgow too.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
Twenty minute assessment brown position isn’t needed today and Burke don’t look like a number 9 striker ?

Play the simple pass, don't try to be clever, O. Burke.
