Celtic could do with boosting their firepower upfront and by signing Charlton forward Karlan Grant not only would achieved that task but they would make Rangers jealous in the process.

According to Scottish Sun the Gers hope to land the 21-year-old attacker for a development fee this summer due to contract with the Addicks being set to expire.

The national paper claims that Steven Gerrard recently sent someone to keep tabs on Grant as the Gers were stepping up their pursuit, and this shows how keen Celtic’s rivals are to get him.

However talkSPORT previously reported on January 16th that Charlton were confident of keeping hold of Grant and getting him to renew his contract despite Rangers being in pursuit of him.

The radio station’s website stated that the London club were optimistic that the in-form forward didn’t want to join Rangers with later article by the station claiming they thought he wouldn’t move to Scotland.

Yet there is a chance that Grant would be open to moving up north if the right offer was put his and Charlton’s way; so Celtic should try their luck especially given that their rivals would be gutted and that Grant could be a sensation in Brendan Rodgers side.

The 21-year-old hotshot is currently tearing it up in League One  and has scored an impressing 14 goals in 28 outings as well as assisting five in the process.

Given that Grant has decent pace, seems strong enough to hold up the ball and is only set to get better given his age, Celtic would benefit from signing him.

This is especially the case when you consider he could be an absolute bargain this month, rather than wait for the summer like Rangers, as according to talkSPORT he cost just a bit above £2million if sold this month.

Therefore with all that in mind Celtic must make Rangers jealous by signing Grant as not only would it be a sweet moment for supporters, he’d excel at the club.
