Rangers have confirmed that Zak Rudden has joined Falkirk on loan for the rest of the season.

The Gers announced via their official Youth Academy Twitter account on Saturday that the 18-year-old starlet has agreed terms to extend his stay at Scottish Championship club as his original loan deal was due to expire this month.

Rudden has scored seven goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Falkirk this season.

OPINION

Rudden is one of the most highly-rated forwards in the Ibrox youth set-up, so it is very important to ensure that he is getting regular first team football. The 18-year-old striker has been on fire at Falkirk this term so it makes a lot of sense to agree an extend loan stay there for him. He can definitely break into Rangers first team in the future, especially as he is playing so well in the Scottish Championship at his age. Hopefully, within the next one or two years, Rudden will secure a loan move to another Scottish Premiership side, and that should really help him take off. Ray McKinnon has already made it clear that he has high hopes for the teenage sensation, and surely Steven Gerrard and other chiefs at Ibrox will be feeling the same way about him if he is keeping up to date on his progress.
