COMMENTARY
Greg Docherty has certainly been catching the eye while on loan at Shrewsbury Town from Rangers and it seems the Ibrox faithful are as excited as he is for the new year. His 2018 saw him handed a couple of first team appearances for the Gers before Steven Gerrard decided to send him off on loan and it seems his temporary spell away from the Light Blues has had the desired effect, bringing the best out of him and getting him the game time he not only wants but deserves. Is there a place in the Ibrox squad in the summer? It would certainly seem as though Gerrard will be willing to give him a shot at earning his place among the Gers side but there is definitely a gulf between the English third tier and Scotland’s top flight. Can he bridge that gap with his performances? Only time will tell.
