Wolves forward Leo Bonatini has agreed to join Greek club PAOK on a loan-to-buy transfer, according to Spor.

The Greek outlet claim the striker, 24, is headed to the league leaders on a deal that will be announced this week.

Spor report that Bonatini, who last appeared for Wolves on 3 November, will move to PAOK on a transfer that includes a clause for them to buy him permanently in the summer.

OPINION

Wolves’ hopes of signing Tammy Abraham appear done and dusted, but that has had no effect on the future of Bonatini, who could well have played his last game for the Premier League outfit. The Brazilian forward made a massive initial impact when joining on loan, topping the goal charts in his first months at Molineux before hitting a stumbling block midway through last season from which he has been unable to recover. Bonatini has barely had a look-in since Raul Jimenez joined last summer, and it is best for everyone that he heads out on loan for the remainder of the season. The Greek league is a relatively minor one, but PAOK are table toppers and on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Should Bonatini hit the ground running for his new employers, it is likely his loan will be converted to a permanent transfer and he will not be seen in the gold-and-black shirt again.
