Wolves have had an £18million offer accepted for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim the Premier League club will start discussing personal terms with the 21-year-old before the weekend after being given the green light by the London giants.

The Sun report Abraham is set to cut short his season-long loan at Aston Villa to make the move to Wolves as they look to add extra firepower to their attack for the second half of the campaign.

Good move for Wolves?

Definitely. This is a real statement of intent from the Premier League club, who have made such an impact since their return to the top flight. Raul Jimenez has been the first choice spearhead this season, but is far from a prolific scorer and Abraham will provide real competition for places up front. £18million looks an absolute snip for a 21-year-old who has ripped Championship defences to pieces in recent weeks, scoring 12 times in his last 10 matches for Dean Smith’s cavalier Aston Villa team. A haul of 16 league goals from 20 matches this season is proof of Abraham’s potency, although there is quite a step up to the Premier League, as he will know from his mixed loan spell at Swansea City last season.

Likely to happen?

This deal has gathered real pace in the last 24 hours and the reported agreement of the fee suggests it is only a matter of time before Abraham completes a permanent transfer to Wolves. It is usually common for personal terms to be informally negotiated by agents before clubs broker a fee, so don’t be surprised if Abraham is unveiled by Wolves before the weekend is out.
