West Ham United will only let striker Lucas Perez leave the club this month on a permanent deal worth £3.5million, according to Spanish radio show Tiempo de Descuento

The FM Valencia show reported on Twitter that a meeting had taken place between the club and Perez’s agent on Wednesday in which a potential exit was discussed, with Valencia in the hunt.

Tiempo de Descuento claim that Valencia are however unwilling to spend that much on the 30-year-old, while two other teams are also interested.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

Perez was purchased for around a similar fee from Arsenal in the summer but has failed to make any kind of impact at the London Stadium this season.

His only success so far has come against lower league teams in cup competitions, and it looks like manager Manuel Pellegrini is already aware Perez is not up to standard.

Recouping their money and moving him off the wage bill this month would be a sensible move.

Likely to happen?

It looks like Perez is keen on leaving, but West Ham’s demands may end up scuppering an exit.

The Hammers are understandably keen on a permanent exit for Perez, but it looks like Valencia only want a loan, or a permanent deal on the cheap.

With two other teams in the hunt an exit is definitely not out of the question, but it would take a change of heart for Perez to be heading to Valencia in the next week or so.
