West Ham United are among several top clubs interested in signing Le Havre centre-back Harold Moukoudi, according to L’Equipe

The French newspaper report that the 21-year-old Frenchman is yet to play for the Ligue 2 club in 2019 due to a contract stand-off, with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

L’Equipe claim that West Ham are among a multitude of European clubs interested in the 6’3″ colossus [Transfermarkt], with clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, and Aston Villa also mentioned.

Good move for West Ham?

Absolutely.

Moukoudi is far too good for the French second-tier, and looks set for a big future in the game with so many top clubs chasing his signature.

The 21-year-old stands tall at 6’3″ and has the power to compete pretty easily in the Premier League, with a cut-price or free transfer looking a no-brainer for West Ham.

The Hammers need all the help they can get at the back, especially with players like Winston Reid looking like they could be on the way out in the summer.

Likely to happen?

It looks like Le Havre have frozen Moukoudi out completely, meaning that a January transfer is now more likely than one in the summer.

West Ham are certainly in with a shout, but with so much competition, it is anyone’s guess where Moukoudi will end up.
