Jim White has claimed that Tottenham are set to hold a top-level transfer meeting imminently where they will look at all the options they have at their disposal after Harry Kane was ruled out with injury until March.

Talking on The Jim White Show (talkSPORT, 10am) White claimed that they would be looking for a new striker and would consider all options, including loan deals.

“I heard just before I came on air that Tottenham are planning a top-level meeting where all the options for a new striker will be on the table, including loan deals” White said.

Kane was injured at the end of the Premier League game against Man United at Wembley on Sunday, where Heung-min Son played his last game for the club before jetting off to the Asian Cup.

OPINION

Tottenham are obviously taking the loss of Kane very seriously and it sounds like they could well be set to change their January transfer plans. Mauricio Pochettino had previously said it was very unlikely that Tottenham would bring any new faces in. However, that has been changed dramatically with the loss of both Kane and Son. Now it looks like Spurs will be scrambling to bring someone in before the end of the month. We don’t think that will include a deal as significant as Callum Wilson. The Bournemouth striker has been linked with a move to Spurs but reports value him between £50million and £75million and we just can’t Tottenham making that big a splash. A short-term loan deal makes much more sense, with Kane out until March. That begs the question of quality though. Is there really a striker who’s available on loan who would be good enough for Tottenham? He might only have to deputise for a month or two, with Son back before Kane, but that period will still include a bunch of games that will define the rest of the Tottenham season.
