Tottenham must bulldoze the reported wall standing in the way of them successfully pursuing Torino midfielder Soualiho Meite.
According to La Gazettea Dello Sport Torino don’t want to let any of their important players leave and have effectively built a wall regarding approaches for their players in order to make it clear their unavailable.
The Italian newspaper claims that Spurs came calling for Meite at the start of January but after being instantly shutdown in their pursuit of the 24-year-old midfield enforcer, they haven’t returned as of yet.
While Torino have made their stance clear, every player has a price and Spurs are capable of breaking down the Serie A’s side if they submit he right offer for Meite.
The 24-year-old ticks a lot of boxes and could be a fantastic signing for Spurs to make that could help them excel in the second half of the season.
Firstly Meite would be able to hit the ground running if recruited as he is no doubt full of confidence after being in fantastic form this season.
The midfield enforcer has stood out for all the right reasons in his 21 outings and has even managed to get on the score sheet twice, which is impressive when you consider he normally sits just in-front of his side’s defence.
Also Meita is a fabulous dribbler of the ball, strong in the air and is very capable of unleashing powerful shots from distance which will leave any keeper in the Premier League rattled.
There’s also the fact he only 24-years-old, so is destined to get better if he keeps progressing at the current rate which means he’d be a signing to benefit the club now as well as in the future.
It’s also worth mentioning that Meita is more than capable of filling the hole left by the recent departure of Mousa Dembele, so he should be worth going all out for and worth persisting with even if Torino need to be seriously tempted.
