Tottenham are sweating a major injury concern to striker Harry Kane, after he limped out of the 1-0 defeat to Man United on Sunday.

Kane played the full 90 minutes but suffered a crunching challenge at the end of the game that left him flat out on the floor.

He hobbled off shortly after but manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted that if he was injured “it would be massive for us”.

His injury couldn’t have come at a worse time, with Heung-min Son on his way to the Asian Cup.

It would leave Tottenham with just Fernando Llorente up front after Pochettino confirmed Vincent Janssen had no future at the club.

Tottenham can’t complete a scan until the swelling on Kane’s leg goes down and that doesn’t bode well at all.

And, if the prognosis is bad, Spurs will surely have to delve into the transfer market.

One name is perfect – Sunderland’s Josh Maja, who’s scored 14 goals in 23 games for Sunderland this season.

Tottenham have been linked with a summer move for the 20-year-old after he rejected a contract extension.

He’s a free agent in the summer but Tottenham could look to strike a cut-price deal for him in the January window and use him as an emergency striker, along with Lucas Moura, while Kane is out.

If they don’t and Kane is out for any length of time, Tottenham’s season could be over.
