OPINION
Tottenham are running out of time to bring any new players into north London before the January transfer window closes, but a player has just become available on loan who would be perfect.
Reliable Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur has claimed that Monaco are “willing to loan out Youri Tielemans until the end of the season”.
Terreur also claimed that Tottenham were interested in the 21-year-old Belgian international in the past but didn’t push as they had Harry Winks.
However, since then, they’ve lost Mousa Dembele and have suffered from a rash of injuries over the first-half of the season.
That would make a loan move, potentially with an option to buy, the perfect solution.
Tielemans has dropped down the pecking order at Monaco since the departure of Thierry Henry and the return of Leonardo Jadim.
The 21-year-old midfielder is a highly-talented player who would slot straight into the Tottenham team, and would surely flourish under Mauricio Pochettino.
Premier League rivals Leicester are very keen on a move for Tielemans but Daniel Levy should swoop in and make sure that Tielemans comes to north London instead, a much more attractive option for the ambitious young midfielder.
