Tottenham have received a huge boost ahead of their cup-semi final against Chelsea on Tuesday, with the news that Erik Lamela has recovered from his illness and is back in training.

Lamela has missed the last three Premier League games and the FA Cup clash on Friday, through illness and injury, and his return is great news for Spurs with Chelsea on Tuesday, followed by Man United in the league on Sunday.

This news comes after it was confirmed that Lucas Moura had picked up an injury in the Tranmere game and would miss the Chelsea clash, as well as being a doubt for the United game.

Tottenham confirmed the fitness news on their official Twitter page on Monday lunchtime.

OPINION

Tottenham have suffered from more than their fair share of injuries over the first-half of the season, and it was good and bad news from today’s press conference, ahead of the cup semi-final against Chelsea. The loss of Lucas Moura is a big blow and potentially more for the United game than for the Carabao Cup. Getting Lamela back is a big boost though. He’s been in great form so far this season, and could slot straight back into the side tomorrow. It will be fascinating to see what team Pochettino puts out. Sunday’s game against Man United is massive, but Pochettino’s man are just two ties away from lifting their first trophy. It might not be the one that Pochettino wants, but fans would love to get the monkey off their side’s back and bag some silverware. We imagine he’ll put his strongest possible team out and we’d give Tottenham the edge over the two legs against Chelsea. On Sarri’s side, Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud are all doubts for tomorrow’s game.
