BBC pundit Jermaine Jenas has raved about Harry Kane after his display in the 3-0 win against Cardiff on Tuesday.

Kane scored the first goal and and made the third for Son Heung-min and Jenas was impressed with what he saw.

Talking on Match of the Day (BBC1, Wednesday, 10.45pm), Jenas said that the way Spurs were playing at the moment suited Kane.

“They’ve been playing with a diamond recently, with Harry Winks at the bottom of the diamond, Eriksen left and Alli right, and it gives him [Kane] the freedom to just drop a little deeper and create and make things happen.

“It’s a side of his game that comes naturally to him and I think he’s at his best when he’s doing this, when he’s dropping deeper, linking things up, getting into the box, hitting shots from distance, and I think the last three or four games he’s back to his best, the Harry Kane that Spurs fans love to see.”

OPINION

It’s been a less spectacular Harry Kane this season but slowly and surely he’s looking back to his best. He’s scoring consistently and making goals for others and Tottenham are just about keeping themselves in touch at the top of the table. They’ll be looking back at the Wolves game with regret. They let Nuno’s side back into a game they should have won at Wembley and if they’d got the three points then, they’d be in a much better position in the league. After the FA Cup break they’ve got Man United and then they have to do without Son Heung-min who’s been their best player recently. This will be a really key month. If they can survive the loss of Son and keep getting the wins, the title run-in could be very interesting indeed.
