17-year-old academy midfielder Jamie Bowden has been spotted training with the first-team ahead of Tottenham’s FA Cup game against Tranmere tomorrow night.

He was spotted along with Anthony Georgiou who has been out with injury. Georgiou has made one appearance for Tottenham, against APOEL Nicosia, back in 2017.

Bowden has yet to make an appearance for the first-team or feature on the bench, but has played for the Tottenham Under-23s this season.

Tottenham face Tranmere in the FA Cup in the Friday night kick-off and Pochettino could be looking to use some youngsters to give his first-team stars a rest.

OPINION

Tottenham should cruise past Tranmere on Friday night and Mauricio Pochettino should be able to rest some of his key first-team stars, and give them a proper break. Harry Kane is one who’s highly unlikely to play, but we really hope some of the talented Tottenham youth players get the chance to step up. It’s not easy getting anywhere near the first-team squad at the moment, but even training with the first-team players is an invaluable experience for the youngsters. Tranmere are mid-table in League 2 and will be looking to cause an upset, but it would be a big one if they pulled it off. The bookies have them down as 16/1 shots to progress in the FA Cup at Tottenham’s expense and that’s probably being quite generous. However, it will all come down to the team that Tottenham puts out. If Pochettino really relies on youth then it could be a fascinating game.
