Tottenham cruised to a 3-0 victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday evening, with three goals in 25 minutes summing up what an impressive display it was from the team.

Spurs were no doubt looking to avenge their surprise 3-1 defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers with a win at Cardiff, and they certainly proved that they were back in business with his rather convincing result.

Goals from Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min sealed all three points for the Lilywhites, moving them up to second place in the Premier League table.

Here, This is Futbol has rounded up the three things learned about Spurs in their win v Cardiff:

Trippier was a disappointment

Nothing seemed to go right for wing-back Kieran Trippier during this thrashing of the Bluebirds, as he majorly disappointed with his performance. He does not have seemed to live up to the hype of the World Cup, a tournament in which he shone.

The £40,000-a-week [Spotrac] player was rather weak defensively, and was incredibly ineffective when it came to tackling. He is looking like a real liability at the back and considering who is lying in the wings – Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters – the axe is looming large.

Son is key to success

Is there anything that Son Heung-Min cannot do? He has gone above and beyond this season, and Mauricio Pochettino is no doubt counting his lucky stars that he is not having to go on National Service after his country’s win in the Asian Games football tournament a few months ago.

The 26-year-old has been sensational for his club, which has only been reinforced with his gem of a display, so he will be a big miss when he leaves for the Asia Cup later this month.

Sissoko is most effective in central midfield

Moussa Sissoko previously played on the right of the midfield, a position which has clearly limited him and his creative flair.

However, put him in the centre and that is where you see the French ace really shine.

This was especially evident against Cardiff, as he box to box and involved a lot more. Fingers crossed that Pochettino continues to play him in this role, as this could really prove dividends for Spurs.
