Tottenham fans will have been hoping for a swift response to their shock loss to Wolves as the team travelled to Cardiff on Tuesday, and they couldn’t really have asked for more in that first half after a stunning display from their side. The period ended 3-0 as Spurs ran riot against a Bluebirds side which looked nervous and disorganised at the back. Mauricio Pochettino decided against making many changes for the match, with just one switch coming in defence where Danny Rose replaced Ben Davies at left-back. That saw Tottenham’s preferred attacking quartet start once again, and all four players were purring in that first half. One player who bounced back from a poor display against Wolves was Christian Eriksen, who dictated play perfectly for Spurs while also bagging a goal of his own. His finish was a masterful one, delaying his shot before wrong-footing the goalkeeper with a pinpoint finish inside the near post. Tottenham fans were delighted with Eriksen’s performance at half-time, and made their feelings clear on Twitter.
