Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is targeting a temporary reunion with Everton winger Ademola Lookman this month, according to Goal.

The football outlet report that Hasenhuttl is hopeful Lookman’s spell playing for him on loan at RB Leipzig last term will lure the 21-year-old to St. Mary’s on a loan deal.

Goal claim that a move could possibly have to wait until the end of the January, with it still not clear whether the speed machine is in Marco Silva’s first-team plans at Everton after being left on the fringes so far this season.

Good move for Southampton?

100%.

Lookman is a young player with huge potential who would add some much-needed quality to a Saints attack which has been floundering this season.

The 21-year-old took the Bundesliga by storm when he joined Leipzig under Hasenhuttl last season, and a reunion of the two men would be a seriously exciting prospect for Southampton fans.

Likely to happen?

At the moment, no.

Lookman may not be a regular starter for Everton, but manager Silva is well aware of his talents and will likely want to keep him around as a back-up.

A loan move is therefore unlikely, so Southampton would need to put serious money on the table for a permanent deal to take place, and the possibility of that happening seems low.
